About Love

What I learned about love...

You can't love someone without knowing them for real. Knowing what makes them suffer, sad, and worried. It's once you understand their suffering, that you can really love them. And love is shown all throughout the year, not just one day. It's your daily actions that matter, not just your words.

    LOWERN - Climate Factors

    Climate Factors
    (LOWERN)

    Latitude

    • The further away from the equator you go, the more seasonal variation there is (and the colder it gets).
    • Locations near the equator are warm.
    • This region receives the most direct sunlight and energy all year long.

    Ocean Currents
    • Warm currents heat, and cold currents cool, the air above water.
    • Cold currents from the Arctic cool the air and reduce the amount of precipitation in a region (cold air doesn’t evaporate as easily as warm air does).
    • When cold and warm currents meet, they can create fog.

    Winds and air masses
    • Air brings climate conditions from where it came.
    • Winds move air masses over land.

    Elevation
    • Climates get colder as elevations get higher.
    • As warm air rises, it expands and loses heat.

    Relief
    • Mountains form a natural barrier that causes air masses to rise.
    • As air rises, it expands and becomes less dense, causing it to cool.
    • Therefore, the leeward side of the mountain is colder and has less precipitation.
    Near water
    • Water bodies have a moderating affect on climates of land masses near them.
    • Water cools & heats slower than land.
    • Therefore, the land near water remains cooler or warmer.
    • This also means there is less temperature range from season to season.

              Tough Decisions

Last school year, I faced a difficult problem. A decision that I needed to make before school. I had to choose one elective class from many I wanted to be in. My top choices were: French, MUN, Art, and Band. I had a special and different reason for each one. But to choose one on top of all of the others was a problem.

I started asking suggestions, advise, and experiences from students and teachers that were taking, had taken or were teaching those courses. After I had all my questions and doubts answered and had a general idea of what each class was about, I decided to talk this with my parents.

We talked about what course would be most efficient, necessary, helpful, and enjoyable for me. we also discussed my strengths, weaknesses, and what had caught my attention the most. Something that I really wanted was to learn French. I've wanted to learn French ever since I was in fifth grade. So basically, that's the main reason why, in the end, I chose the French One course this year.

              Summer Memories

At the beginning of June, my sister and I wanted to bake cookies and brownies to sell. My father told us that it would be great to sell them at my aunt's store in el Centro of San Pedro Sula. So for basically two and a half weeks, we baked and sold brownies there.

At the end of June, my grandmother died (my father's mom) in Tegucigalpa one Thursday. At that time, my father was in Utila, Bay Islands. But his sister told him about that quickly, and he was able to get the 2:00 pm trip to La Ceiba. We were on the way to selling our brownies when he called us. So we went back home to prepare our suitcases. When he got to La Ceiba, his brother-in-law went to pick him up in our car and immediately headed for San Pedro.

We were entering Tegucigalpa when at 10:15 a police stopped us. Why were we out when there was a strict curfew at 10:00 pm? My parents both got out of the car to explain the reason and the cop let us go through. We stopped 3 more times before we to my dad's brother-in-law's mama's house at 11:40. We went to my grandma's funeral the next day, and now we visit her at the cemetery in Tegus.

              My Fun-Hurting-Same-Time DAY!

I wrote this story when I was in 4th grade, just 9 years old. Please excuse my errors; I wanted to conserve my way of writing when I was that age.

"Uh!" I grumbled in a bored and tired way. "Oh, I wish I could go out to play with Dulce, Rocío, and Joan." I thought for a moment: "If I would ask my dad to play, he would tell me to put on my tennis shoes and to also wear a nice shirt to go out to play." So before I asked him, I changed my clothes and got ready to go outside. When I was ready, he gave me permission and I opened the fence. My sister came running after me.

We went on to Dulce's house which is riht in front of mine. She came out with nothing to play with. We played "2CS1RL," which means "two chasing scooters and one running legs" (runs fasts with the legs). We three got tired of playing this. Then we wanted to know what Joan and Rocío were doing. Maybe, they would have a better idea to play. We invited them and at last Joan came with the idea of skating shoes.
